Pray, and let God worry.

Let him who wants a true church cling to the Word by which everything is upheld. –Martin Luther

“It’s true that a good diet is the best medicine when it suits the individual, but to live medically is to live wretchedly.” Then he related some examples of deceased persons who starved themselves to death on the advice of their physicians. “I eat what I like and will die when God wills it.”
Luther’s Tabletalk

“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” (Ephesians 2.8-9)

“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” (Romans 3.23)

Any time you break or disobey ANY ONE of the holy, righteous commandments of God, YOU HAVE SINNED. You need to repent. No one is excluded. No man, woman or child has ever lived who hasn’t disobeyed and broken God’s law (Rom. 3:10, 23). Therefore, EVERY ONE of you needs to repent deeply and bitterly with all your heart. You need to turn TO GOD for forgiveness. You need to begin to obey Him and keep His commandments — all His commandments. For “He that saith, I know him {I am a Christian}, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him” (I John 2:4).

“Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:” (Romans 5.12)

“If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.” (1 John 1.10)

Jesus said: “I tell you, Nay: but, except ye *REPENT, ye shall all likewise perish.” (Luke 13.5)

*REPENT* = discarding sin and our old lives to embrace the love of Christ and escape Hell out of a reverent and obedient fear of God

Repent found in; (Did you know our Lord repented? Genesis 6)

Old Testament

New Testament

God has placed two ways before us in His Word: salvation by faith, damnation by unbelief (Mark 16:16). He does not mention purgatory at all. Nor is purgatory to be admitted, for it obscures the benefits and grace of Christ.”And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:” (Acts 17.30)

8: For though I made you sorry with a letter, I do not repent, though I did repent: for I perceive that the same epistle hath made you sorry, though it were but for a season.
9: Now I rejoice, not that ye were made sorry, but that ye sorrowed to repentance: for ye were made sorry after a godly manner, that ye might receive damage by us in nothing.
10: For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.

(2 Cor 7.8-10)

Gerechtigkeit erhöhet ein Volk; aber die Sünde ist der Leute Verderben.”

“Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.”

(Proverbs 14:34)

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3.16)

“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord (Christ Jesus) shall be saved.” (Romans 10.13)

“… received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.” (Acts 17.11)

“And Jesus answering said unto them, Do ye not therefore err, because ye know not the scriptures, neither the power of God?” (Mark 12.24)

“Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.” (2 Peter 1.20)

“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” (2 Timothy 2.15)

“But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, *he shall teach you all things*, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.” (John 14.26)

“Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth…” (John 16.13)

“Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.” (1 Corinthians 2.13)

“Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.” (1 Corinthians 2.12)

“Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.” (Psalm 119.11)

“Keep my commandments, and live… write them upon the table of thine heart.” (Proverbs 7.2-3)

“And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.” (Matthew 21.22)

“Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.” (Philippians 4.6)

“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:” (2 Timothy 3.16)

*A warning*

“These things have I written unto you concerning them that seduce you. But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie , and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.” (1 John 2.26-27)

“O how love I thy law! it is my meditation all the day. Thou through thy commandments hast made me wiser than mine enemies: for they are ever with me. I have more understanding than all my teachers: for thy testimonies are my meditation. ” (Psalm 119.97-99)

“For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel!” (1 Corinthians 9:16)

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.” (Romans 1.16)

I am not worthy of the least of all the mercies, and of all the truth, which thou hast shewed unto thy servant.”

Lord Jesus, you are my righteousness, I am your sin.

You have taken upon yourself what is mine and given me what is yours.

You have become what you were not so that I might become what I was not. — MARTIN LUTHER

If your lost and cannot understand what is written your light has not penetrated thru the darkness of the world yet, my friend. Get a Bible begin to come to know God, His Son, and His Holy Spirit.

We should study, know and believe the Written Word of God because it will never contradict the Living Word.

There is no “connecting” with Christ until we acknowledge our sin for what it is and forsake it under the power of the Holy Spirit. That’s why John the Baptist’s cry in Matthew 3:2 was identical to that of Jesus Himself in Matthew 4:17. The church may have changed dramatically over the years but God has not. And, neither has His message to sinful man.

“Repent: for the kingdom of Heaven is at hand.” – Matthew 4:17

Jesus Christ said — in speaking of the religious leaders and people of His day: “… This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me. Howbeit IN VAIN do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men” (Mark 7:6-7)

People attend evangelistic campaigns, talk of all uniting in the brotherhood of Christianity. But NO ONE seems to want to live the way Jesus Christ commanded.

Most are willing to honour Him with their lips, but they DON’T WANT TO DO the things He taught.

The world-wide interest in religion is simply a facade. The problem is that we haven’t, as nations, and all too frequently even as individual persons, DEEPLY REPENTED.

What Is Repentance?

If an increase in the interest in religion around the world doesn’t show repentance, what does? If the great evangelistic campaigns aren’t producing it, how do you get it? Where does it come from? What does it mean?

The dictionary definition of repentance is: “To feel self-reproach, compunction, or contrition for past conduct, to feel such sorrow for sin or fault as to be disposed to change one’s life for the better” (“The American College Dictionary”).

The Bible definition means all of that AND MUCH MORE!

Godly repentance means to stop sinning, to turn and go the other way — TO CHANGE YOUR WAY OF LIFE! It s not always easy to say, “I’m sorry.” But it s even harder to MEAN IT. Godly repentance has to come FROM THE HEART.

In speaking of Great Britain — God’s people Ephraim — whom He’s going to punish for their lack of repentance, God says: “And they have not cried unto me WITH THEIR HEART, when they howled upon their beds: … they rebel against me. Though I have bound and strengthened their arms, yet do they imagine mischief against me. They return, BUT NOT TO THE MOST HIGH” (Hosea 7:14-16), Księga Ozeasza 7.14-16.

Your Bible says people have made an OUTWARD show of returning to Him or repenting, but they haven’t done it WITH THEIR HEARTS! Ephraim’s repentance, and for that matter, that of the rest of the world, is the outward, superficial, WORLDLY REPENTANCE with no real sincerity or DEEP feeling.

Repent of What?

What is it you repent of or feel sorrow for? To some it is one thing and to others — from another society or religion — it is something altogether different. What does GOD say actually constitutes sin? What would GOD have you repent of?

“Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for SIN IS THE TRANSGRESSION OF THE LAW,” (1John 3:4).

Where Repentance Comes From

We can’t just drum up the deep feeling of abhorrence for our sin and our own utter wretchedness. It has to come FROM GOD.

“Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering, not knowing that the GOODNESS OF GOD LEADETH YOU TO REPENTANCE” (Rom 2.4).

2Timothy 2.25 tells us, “… IF GOD PERADVENTURE WILL GIVE THEM REPENTANCE to the acknowledging of the truth.”

It is God who helps us to see our own wretchedness and shortcomings. He opens our minds and starts us on the way toward repentance.

How Repentance Starts

There are definite steps to take if you sincerely desire to repent and serve God. They are simple steps. Anyone who will follow them can be guaranteed he will find the true God and the deep repentance that God requires.

Your Bible names dozens of men who are going to be in the Kingdom of God. Such men as David, Daniel and other of the prophets of God are guaranteed salvation and a place in His Kingdom. They found how to reach the Creator of the universe. Their example will help us to see how we might attain the same goal.

They all had one very essential thing in common. As soon as they realized God was displeased with them or their nation’s ways, they set out to correct it. But how can you know when the Father in Heaven is displeased? How do you know when any father, who really loves his children and has their welfare at heart, is displeased?

” Chasten thy son while there is hope, but let not thy soul be moved to slay him.” (Prov 19.18).

Our Heavenly Father many times begins to deal with us and bring us to repentance through chastening. Often He allows financial problems, family problems, sickness, or other serious situations to develop in our lives which will force us to realize OUR NEED of Him. These very things have occurred in your life, but chances are you didn’t appreciate them.

These trials are proof of the Father’s love for each one of us. Notice Hebrews 12.6-8. “For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?”

Seek God!

Instead of fighting these problems in our own strength, we need to learn the lesson God is teaching us. We need to begin to SEEK Him. He doesn’t need US. WE DO NEED HIM!

Daniel was inspired to record his own reactions in such a case as this for our instruction. “And I set my face unto the Eternal God, to seek by prayer and supplication with fasting and sackcloth and ashes”, (Dan. 9.3).

Nehemiah’s example is also recorded for us. When he found that his nation which had returned to Palestine was in affliction and reproach, here’s what he did. “And it came to pass, when I heard these words, that I sat down and wept, and mourned certain days, and fasted, and prayed before the God of heaven” (Neh 1.4). He immediately set out to draw close to God. He didn’t do it in a half-hearted, lackadaisical, matter-of-fact way. He did it earnestly, sincerely and WITH ALL HIS HEART. He set himself to find God and His will by PRAYER and FASTING. These men EARNESTLY desired to find God’s will. They were willing to do whatever was required to draw close to Him and receive His forgiveness. They were willing to do without food and water if necessary to demonstrate to God their sincere desire to know His way.

Do It With All Your Heart

Hard as it is to say, “I’m sorry,” it is even MORE DIFFICULT TO MEAN IT WITH ALL YOUR HEART. The earnest supplication of God through prayer and fasting shows Him you mean business. He doesn’t want a temporary, fleeting repentance which is brought about by an emotional appeal or due to the pressures of those around us. Salvation is a personal matter between you and your God. BUT IT HAS TO BE ON HIS TERMS.

In the days of ancient Israel, God told King Solomon exactly what steps to follow if he found God’s displeasure on his nation. These same steps apply to us today. God is the same yesterday, today and forever (Heb 13.8). He doesn’t change. So if we will apply these steps in our everyday lives, He will answer just as He told Solomon He would.

Read these steps, this formula for repentance, for yourself in 2Chronicles 7.12-14. “And the Eternal appeared to Solomon by night and said unto him, I have heard thy prayer, and have chosen this place to myself for an house of sacrifice. If I shut up heaven that there be no rain, or if I command the locusts to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among my people; If my people, which are called by my name, shall HUMBLE THEMSELVES, and PRAY, and SEEK MY FACE, and TURN FROM THEIR WICKED WAYS; then will I hear from heaven, and will FORGIVE THEIR SIN, and will heal their land.”

The steps are so simple, so clear and plain.

What does it mean to humble yourself? How do you go about it? Exactly the same way Daniel and Nehemiah did. David explains in Psalm 35.13 how you humble yourself. “But as for me, when they were sick, my clothing was sackcloth: I HUMBLED my soul WITH FASTING; and my prayer returned into mine own bosom.”

Fasting shows our earnestness and sincerity in seeking God and adds impetus to the prayers we raise to Him.

*I encourage you all to read this chapter at least.* Ezekiel 18, 12 – 24

“I the Lord God, don’t like to see wicked people die. I enjoy seeing people turn from their sins and live!!” Ezek 18.23

The GOOD NEWS ( the Gospel ) is that it is very EASY to have the Holy Spirit.

*Der GOOD NEWS (das Evangelium) ist, dass es sehr EASY haben den Heiligen Geist.

God came down to this earth 2,000 years ago and took upon Himself the form of a man.

*Gott kam auf diese Erde, 2000 Jahre alt und hat sich auf die Form eines Mannes.

That man was the Lord Jesus Christ ( John 1:1,14; 1st Timothy 3:16 ) .

*War, dass der Mensch den Herrn Jesus Christus (Joh 1:1,14; 1. Timotheus 3,16).

Literally, the GODHEAD became incarnate (Colossians 2:9) .

*Buchstäblich, der GODHEAD wurde in Menschengestalt (Kolosser 2:9).

Jesus was born of a virgin (Isaiah 7:14) (Księga Izajasza 7) .

*Jesus wurde von einer Jungfrau geboren (Jesaja 7.14) (Księga Izajasza 7).

Jesus never sinned once (2nd Corinthians 5:21) .

*Jesus nie gesündigt einmal (2. Korinther 5:21).

Jesus died, was buried and rose again after three days (1st Corinthians 15:1-4) .

*Jesus starb, wurde begraben und stieg wieder nach drei Tagen (1. Korinther 15:1-4).

Jesus shed His blood to pay for all our sins ( Colossians 1:14 ; 1st Peter 1:18,19 ) , and applied that blood to the Mercy Seat in Heaven (Hebrews 9:24-26) .

*Jesus Schuppen Sein Blut zu zahlen für alle unsere Sünden (Kolosser 1:14; 1. Peter 1:18,19), und angewandt, dass Blut an den Mercy Seat in Heaven (Hebräer 9:24-26).

There are a few things you must know to be saved:

*Es gibt ein paar Dinge, die Sie wissen müssen, die gespeichert werden müssen:
1. You are a sinner under the condemnation of God’s Law (Romans 3:10, 23) .

*1. Du bist ein Sünder unter der Verurteilung von Gottes Gesetz (Römer 3:10, 23).

2. You are GUILTY, and deserve to go to Hellfire as punishment for your sins (Romans 3:19 ; 6:23; Revelation 21:8 ).

*2. Sie sind SCHULDIG, und verdienen bis zu Hellfire als Strafe für die Sünden (Römer 3:19, 6:23; Offenbarung 21:8).
3. Jesus Christ, God in the flesh (God’s Son), died upon the cross to pay for your sins (John 3:16-18 ; Romans 5:8 ). It is Jesus’ blood that takes our sins away (1 John 1:7) .

*3. Jesus Christus, Gott im Fleische (Gottes Sohn), starb auf dem Kreuz zu zahlen für eure Sünden (Johannes 3:16-18; Römer 5:8). Es ist Jesus’ Blut, die unsere Sünden weg ( 1 John 1:7).

If you believe that Jesus is the Savior (the Christ) who paid for your sins, and you realize your sinful condition (and thus your need for a Savior), then you’re ready to be born again.

All you need to do is repent (ie, turn 180° from the way you were) to Jesus Christ in faith, believing upon Him to forgive your sins and save you… “Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.” You may pray if you’d like, but you don’t have to.

Salvation is of the heart (Romans 10:10) .

*Das Heil ist des Herzens (Römer 10,10).

If you’d like to pray, simply ask Jesus to forgive your sins and tell Him that you’re trusting Him as your Savior.

*Wenn Sie möchten, um zu beten, einfach fragen Jesus Ihre Sünden zu verzeihen und ihm sagen, dass Sie ihn als Ihren vertrauensvollen Erlöser.

It matters not exactly what you pray, just as long as you realize these two main truths:

*Es Fragen, die nicht genau das, was Sie beten, nur so lange, wie Sie erkennen diese zwei Wahrheiten:

1. You are a guilty sinner under the condemnation of God’s Law!

*1. Du bist ein Sünder schuldig unter die Verurteilung von Gottes Gesetz!

2. Jesus is the Savior who shed His blood to take away your sins!

*2. Jesus, der Retter, ist, die Schuppen Sein Blut zum Mitnehmen eure Sünden!

Admit Your Sins

Prayer and fasting aren’t the only requirements in seeking God. If you will read back over the examples of Daniel and Nehemiah as well as any of the other prophets of God, you will notice that in every case they FREELY ACKNOWLEDGED their own sins and shortcomings. It takes a deeply sincere man to say, “Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me and know my thoughts: and see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting” (Ps 139.23-24).

If we are earnestly seeking God and His way, this is the attitude we will be reflecting. We will freely admit our own sins and shortcomings and be earnestly importuning God to show us the right way. Jeremiah said, “O Lord, I know that THE WAY OF MAN IS NOT IN HIMSELF: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps. O Lord, correct me, but with judgement; not in your anger, lest you bring me to nothing” (Jer 10.23-24).

We as individuals do not know how to live. Once we begin to learn that lesson, and look to God to show us how to live and how to change our lives, we are on our way to real repentance.

The steps are simple. Yet it is not easy to completely give of yourself, to admit your own faults and sincerely ask for God’s forgiveness.

Turn From Own Ways!

The people of this world outwardly follow many of these steps and yet fall short in the final, most important of all the steps — TURNING FROM THEIR WICKED WAYS. That is why it is so hard to distinguish between the believer and the non-believer. That is why the “distance between our professed faith and our daily performance is astronomical.” So many people of this day and age profess to be repentant — profess Christianity and yet still live in all the wretchedness of their sinful ways. So, finally, one of the most important of all the steps in coming to true repentance is to STOP SINNING! Millions CLAIM membership in a church. They loudly proclaim their belief in Jesus Christ. They testify for Christ, BUT THE FRUIT IS NOT THERE.

All too often our repentance is the worldly repentance spoken of in 2Corinthians 7.10. What we really need to come to see and understand is the kind of repentance God speaks of. “Therefore also now, saith the Eternal, Turn ye even to me WITH ALL YOUR HEART, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning: and REND YOUR HEART, and not your garments, and turn to the Eternal your God: for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repenteth him of the evil”. (Joel 2.12-13).

No, God doesn’t want the worldly kind of repentance which is manifested by a trip down the sawdust trail. No, He doesn’t just want your name on the membership rolls of some church. What God wants and what you should come to deeply desire is to SINCERELY acknowledge your sins and ask forgiveness. God wants you to say, “I’M SORRY” — and mean it! He wants you to repent of breaking and to begin obeying His LAW.

The decision is up to you. The steps are before you. You know the way — “Walk ye in it.”

Thank you so much for your article !! I have repented fully and felt the Joy it is to know that God has seen my heart and judged it good. I also try to live my life in prayer without ceasing BUT recently I have found difficulty as I have been on holiday and also my new contract for my job is about to be renewed.

God has given me ‘gifts and talents to be used in the service of others’ and I am impatient to get to work. Yet I do not want to preempt God by doing what seems good but is not His will for me. I want to do what Jesus did ‘ The will of the Father’ and live by’ every word that comes from the mouth of God’. Your page has reminded me of the importance of fasting.

I will seek His will for my life and because I earnestly seek, I know I will find. Thank you once again for strengthening and reminding me. May God bless you and use you to bless many.

    Your brother in Christ, Gef
