It has been brought to my attention that due to a nasty installation in Foxit Reader of the Ask toolbar We shall ask you to refrain from Foxit and move to another program.
Due to the wonderful group at COU and friends there within They have found this trouble dated Feb 24.
I am grateful for bringing this forward and attention to detail. I would have not been able to do this alone. 8″) Thanks

Freeware Foxit pdf Reader too will now install Ask toolbar … else get crippled !
Feb 25th, 2009. The Foxit pdf Reader took the freeware world by storm and became very popular. Compared to its rival the Adobe pdf reader, the Foxit Reader was a small download, fast to install, loaded fast and consumed less resources. Many people have switched to the Foxit Reader as a substitute to Adobe Reader. With the publicity over the current Adobe Reader vulnerability, one expects even more people are looking for a substitute. Now comes the news that Foxit reader too will include the Ask toolbar along with its installation !

Today Aug 25 2009 There is malware associated to this great program. But not from the known developer!!
Foxit Reader is a popular alternative to Adobe’s PDF reading utilities, allowing Windows users the ability to view Adobe Acrobat files without some of the extra baggage that Adobe’s own solutions carry with them.
However, Foxit Reader is not yet officially available for Apple Macs although the developer’s support forums has plenty of evidence that Mac users are hungry for a version for Mac OS X.
Foxit Corporation is encouraging its users to be alert to pirated software malware attacks that claim to be Foxit Reader for Macintosh. Foxit recommends users to always log onto Foxit’s website, http://www.foxitsoftware.com, for secure and reliable downloads along with updates for all of its products.
“While imitation may be the sincerest form of flattery, we are not happy about the recent malware attacks masquerading as our Foxit Reader. Foxit has always strived to insure that our solutions are secure for our users, and remains committed to address any Foxit product security issue in a professional and timely manner,” said George Gao, Vice President of Marketing and Sales of Foxit Corporation.
Any user foolish enough to download a version of “Foxit Reader for Mac” from a source other than the official Foxit website at http://www.foxitsoftware.com is, therefore, risking infecting their iMac or MacBook.
